The Son Shall Rise
A quiet Sunday reflection on finding provision, guidance, and faithful surrender in Scripture when the way ahead feels uncertain.
This morning I woke to the most beautiful sunrise. Pinks, purples, blues - and a warmth behind all of it that I couldn’t see with my naked eye.
The hope for the day before me is beautiful, but the promise within it is greater.
I might have accepted it as a beautiful beginning, a special treat. But as I sat down to do my Bible reading, I came to appreciate what was hidden within it.
A Rhythm for the Day
I subscribe to the Revised Common Lectionary on Vanderbilt's website. It adds an appointment to my calendar with a link to Bible readings for that day. (Yes, a single link. One click, and everything I need is there before me). Because it is Sunday, the reading is a little longer. But it so perfectly captures what I feel G-d has been speaking into my life recently that I had to take a moment and share.

Listening Through Scripture
The lectionary offers two Old Testament pathways today. I found myself reading both, along with Philippians, and these are the impressions that stayed with me.
These are just my impressions, what I feel the LORD is speaking to me. Take some time today and see what He might be offering to you:

Sometimes G‑d’s provision is present before I recognize it, like the warmth radiating beneath the colors of the morning sky.
A Small Spiritual Practice
Take five unhurried minutes today with just one of these passages. You do not need to read all five, simply choose what meets you where you are right now. Read slowly, and let yourself rest there.
